OVERVIEW

ChangeVerve (Pty) Ltd (“ChangeVerve”) is committed to protecting your privacy and giving you the safest online experience possible. This Privacy Policy applies to our websites and governs data collection, usage and any other processing. By using the ChangeVerve sites, you agree that you have read and accepted our terms together with all associated website documentation including this privacy policy.

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from www.changeverve.com and/or www.changeverveacademy.com (the “sites”).

1. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

  1. When you visit the sites, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including your computer hardware and software, which includes information about your web browser, IP address, domain names, access times, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the sites, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the sites, and information about how you interact with the Sites. This information is used by us for the operation of the service, to maintain the quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding the use of the sites. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”
  2. We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
    1. “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, see clause 6 below and visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
    2. “Log files” track actions occurring on the sites, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
    3. “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the sites.

Additionally when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the sites, we collect certain personally identifiable information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, telephone number and payment information (including credit and/or debit card numbers. We refer to this information as “Order Information.”
  4. From time to time we may also collect anonymous demographic information (information which is not unique to you) such as your postal code, age, gender, preferences, interests and favourites.
  5. If you directly disclose personal identifiable information or personally sensitive data this information may be collected and used by others. Note: We do not read any of your private online communication.
  6. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of any websites that you link to from our sites so you understand how those sites collect, process and share your personal information. We are not responsible for the privacy statements or any other content on any other website.
  7. When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking about Device Information, Order Information and anonymous demographic information.

2. HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

  1. We collect and use your personal information to operate the sites and fulfil any orders placed through the sites (including processing your payment information, releasing the purchased products and/or services to you and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:
    1. Communicate with you;
    2. Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
    3. When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products and/or services.
  2. We may, from time to time, contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current products and/or services or of potential new products and/or services that may be offered. We do not sell, rent or lease our customer lists or databases to any third parties.
  3. We may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. In those cases, your unique personal information is not transferred to the third-party. In addition, we may share data with trusted partners to help us perform statistical analysis, send you mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries. All such third-parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide those services to us, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your personal information.
  4. We will never use or disclose your sensitive personal information (such as your race or religion) without your explicit consent.
  5. We may track the websites and pages our clients visit within ChangeVerve to determine what services are the most popular. This data may be used to deliver customised content and advertising to clients whose online behaviour indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.
  6. We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimise our sites (for example, by generating analytics about how our clients browse and interact with the sites, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
  7. Our sites will disclose your personal information without notice to you only if required to do so by law, or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on us; protect and defend our rights or property; and/or while acting under exigent circumstances to protect the safety of our users, or the public.

3. DATA RETENTION

When you place an order through the sites, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

4. SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

  1. We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above to process your orders.

5. BEHAVIOURAL ADVERTISING

  1. As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you.
  2. By placing an order on our websites, you agree to receive marketing material and information from us. Should you wish to not receive this information, you can email us with a request to unsubscribe at support@changeverve.com.

6. YOUR RIGHTS

  1. You have the right to:
    1. object to receiving direct marketing or communication from us via the tools provided on our websites or by communicating with us directly;
    2. access the personal information that we hold about you;
    3. ask us to delete the personal information that we hold about you; and
    4. request amendments to the personal information that we hold about you.
  2. If you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfil contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the sites), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information could possibly be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.
  3. To access the personal information we hold about you, or to request that such data be amended or deleted, you may contact us at support@changeverve.com. Please note that once your personal information has been deleted, you will no longer be able to sign into your personal account on our websites.

7. SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

  1. We undertake to use our best efforts to secure your personal information from unauthorised access, use or disclosure.
  2. We secure the personal information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. When personal information (such as your credit card number) is transmitted to other websites, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol and an additional authentication system called 3D-Secure™.
  3. If you are a registered user or subscriber on our websites, we retain most of your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you are a subscriber and your subscription has lapsed, we may delete some elements of your information. Our subscription department will warn you ahead of time that your subscription is due for renewal so you can keep your account active. Some of your personal data may over time be aggregated and anonymised to create analytics reports about our websites.

8. DO NOT TRACK

Please note that we do not alter our sites’ data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

9. COOKIES

  1. We use “cookies” to help you personalise your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web page server.
  2. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer.
  3. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that used the cookie to you.
  4. We use cookies for inter alia the following reasons:
    1. to identify which areas of our websites you have visited or customised, so the next time you visit, those pages or settings are easily accessible;
    2. to store your location, which allows us to display to you content that is more relevant to you;
    3. to store your device type, which allows us to display a version of our websites best suited to your device;
    4. to monitor and enable some aspects of website analytics as explained in point 9.4.1 above, which helps us make our websites more usable, provide better assistance to users and compile aggregated and statistical analytics reports;
    5. to enable many of the other functions and options available on our website – for example, recommending content to you;
    6. with our advertisers, to ascertain how many times you’ve seen an advertisement or clicked on it, or to personalise the advertising content, banners and promotions that you see on our websites.
  5. You can choose whether to accept cookies by changing the settings of your browser. You can set your browser to refuse all cookies or allow it to show you when a cookie is being sent. If you choose not to accept cookies, your experience on this and other websites may be diminished and some features may not work as intended.

10. CHANGES

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect company and customer feedback, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons, and we may not notify you of such an amendment. We encourage you to periodically review this privacy policy in order to stay informed of how we are protecting your personal information.
